Katalin Domoszlay is a Colorado-based artist whose work is shaped by a lifelong dialogue between art, architecture, and interior design. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she moved to the United States in the early 1980s and later earned master’s degrees in Architecture and Interior Design from the University of Colorado Denver. She settled in Aspen in 1991, where she collaborated with prominent architects before founding her own design practice. This interdisciplinary background continues to inform her visual language and creative process.
Her work is guided by light, atmosphere, material, and presence. Influenced by her life experience, architectural training, and Zen practice, she approaches painting as a process of discovery rather than repetition. Each piece emerges through inquiry, intuition, and close attention to what wants to unfold. This openness gives her work both structure and emotional depth.
Domoszlay’s paintings are created to bring stillness, clarity, and resonance into a space.
